COLE CHEWINS receives D1 Michael R. Sadler Award at National Football Foundation State of Michigan Chapter Football Awards Banquet.
Cole Chewins, Offensive Lineman for the Michigan State Spartans, won the D1 Michael R. Sadler Award at the 2018 NFF Football Awards Banquet on December 20, 2018. The evening celebrated Michigan High School Football Coaches Association’s 2018 All-State Dream Team as well as NFF Michigan Collegiate D1, D2 and D3 Scholar Athlete Awards.
Chewins attended Clarkston High School, where he was captain of the 2-time state championship football team. He graduated from Clarkston with a 3.98 GPA.
He was a walk-on at MSU, earning a full scholarship after one semester. Since then, Chewins has become a 3-yr starter, a 3-time Academic All BIG Ten and distinguished scholar, a 2-time Academic All American, and multiple MSU awards.
Cole Chewins graduated in 3 1/2 years with an undergraduate degree in Finance and a GPA of 3.91. He will begin his Master’s degree in Finance this January while he finishes his fourth year of eligibility with the Spartans.
Chewins is the third player to win the D1 Michael R. Sadler Scholar Athlete Award, following Zack Terrell, Western University (2016), and Brian Allen, Michigan State University (2017).
